In-House Material Testing

At Whitefield Plastics, first-time success is key to superior project execution.  We offer in-house polyurethane material testing and services to validate material selection, product design, and systems prior to delivery.  Often, polyurethane material testing is validated through third-party verification of in-house test results.  Some testing is performed prior to manufacture to ensure that a design will be suitable.

Industry practices for product validation through physical testing often did not span a full scope of performance scenarios.  Inefficient and often inaccurate test results were accepted as proof of fitness for use.  Multifaceted approaches to using alternative analysis of components were ignored, leading to unplanned downtime and failure.

Testing at Whitefield Plastics encompasses an array of validation.  Validation through different methods confirms a systems fitness for use, identify an opportunity for material substitution and can indicate areas of design improvement.

Testing that we provide include, but not limited to:

  • Material analysis, provided by suppliers
  • Material decomposition analysis (samples of unknown material to be identified)
  • ASTM Material physical testing for nonmetallic materials
  • Physical testing of manufactured components
  • FEA simulation of materials in use
